What I Wore: The Hi Low Edition

Anyone else watch the new season of Arrested Development? I obviously have based on my title. Anyway, it did feel appropriate here in today's outfit post. I have issues with office wear. Mostly because my office is super casual. Like so casual some people come to work in yoga pants and as I've mentioned on here before, I don't even leave the house in yoga pants unless I'm heading straight to the gym. So I struggle because I often feel over dressed or under dressed but never....dressed?

What I Wore: California Livin'

Take me back to the west. The sun is finally starting to show a little today after days of stormy weather and it's making me wonder why I ever flew back from California in the first place. Anyway, my little road trip out there was amazing and I finally got around to uploading the photos from the trip to my desktop. Meaning I'll hopefully get to share those memories on here soon!

Moving on to the more important question: what does a Chicago girl, used to frigid weather, wear in California? Something that makes her look very confused as to what season we're in.

Photo Friday: The Great Midwest

As I mentioned in my last post, I spent a little weekend up in snowy Wisconsin for the holiday and I spent a lot of that time knitting and taking pictures. It's amazing how much you can get done when there's no cell reception or Internet.

A Very Merry Christmas

It's been one long year. I feel very lucky to have what I have and very lucky to be able to write this little blog and have someone listening. Thank you to everyone that reads this every once in a while. You keep me up late typing away and I love it. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying a great holiday!

Photo Friday: Sunny California

So earlier this week I was in sunny California on a business trip and it was about 75 degrees the whole time I was there. Coming home felt like traveling to a different world. This trip was also the first time I've seen mountains, so to commemorate the trip this photo of the day post is actually two photos. Hope you don't mind ;)

The first picture I took from my plane window. Yes, I always call window seat. The second was taken outside the convention center in Anaheim. Both pictures were taken with my iPhone.

This was also my first trip ever to California, I wish I had a chance to see more of it.

Do you have any plans to travel soon?

Photo Friday: Teach Me About Tornadoes

No matter how many times I've seen it, I can't seem to get tired of the Museum of Science and Industry's weather exhibit. It's fun and interactive and there's wind tunnel! What more could you ask for. If you live in Chicago and have never been there or ever plan on stopping through, I highly recommend it. I have another couple free passes that expire in June and yes I do plan on going at least two more times before then. Plus, it sets up a really cool photo opportunity.

Photo Friday: Downtown by the pier

It's snowing here today. A lot. I'm trying not to get let it get me down and trying to remember what sunshine looks like. Hopefully, I'll get to see it again at some point this weekend. Hope you're having a good one :)

Photo Friday: Making Memories

With the oodles of 2011 round-up lists and the start of a brand new year, I have to say I've been a little nostalgic. Today's photo of the day wasn't meant to be an attempt at photography, it was just a pretty sunrise on the morning of my 20th birthday. On my 20th birthday, my best friend and I stayed out all night riding our bikes and ended up on the beach when the sun was coming up. It was a great night. In reminiscing, I'm being reminded of a lot of great moments in the past few years and I'm extremely thankful for all of them. Here's to another year of great memories.

So tell me, what's your favorite memory?

Photo Friday: A Little Chicago Love

Because I am posting this from my phone today, in today's photo of the day post I'm showing off my iPhone photography "skills". This is a collage of a day I spent meandering around downtown on a "sick day" from work. As much as I want to move put of this city one day, I will always have some Chicago love.

Photo Friday: Red and Blue

Today's picture of the day if one I took over the summer when I became more interested in how the raspberries looked on the cutting board, than finishing my salad. I hope you like it!

It's nights like these that make me love Chicago again.

Photo Friday

Happy Friday!

Unfortunately it's also Black Friday. Did you guys wake up and do the whole craziness to get all the best deals?

I have to admit we went to Target at midnight and I hated every last minute of it, but we got a new TV for the bedroom out of it and the second season of Madmen for $8. So, I guess it wasn't all bad.

For today's photo Friday I picked something that's representative of how I feel after yesterday. I'd need some heavy machinery to move me off the couch after stuffing myself full of Tofurkey, stuffing, and potatoes. I hope your Thanksgiving was just as delicious!

Photo Friday

Alright, so I'm going to try something new that's somewhat personal  Fridays where I post a picture that I've taken at some point in my life. You see blog followers, I very much enjoy photography and a while ago I bought myself one of them fancy little cameras with lenses you can change out and such. So far, I've had lots of ideas for photo projects, but no motivation. So here goes nothin'. One photo from my files every Friday. Enjoy!

I took this picture at the Shedd Aquarium over the summer. I love sea life and they were having a whole jellyfish exhibit which of course I couldn't resist!

Anyway, until next time!
Maggie
